This explanation will be focused on Static Line Jumpmasters, who are generally just referred to as Jumpmaster. There are two types of Jumpmasters within the US Army Military Free Fall and Static Line. In military applications, jumpmasters are used for static line and freefall jumps. They are responsible for training soldiers who enter Army Airborne School into paratroopers and managing airborne jump operations in airborne units across all branches of services. Once you are proficient in these areas and your instructors are satisfied with your performance, you can be cleared to jump without an instructor with you in free fall. Now you’ve learnt all these new skills you’ll be asked to show us them in a sequence. If all goes to plan your instructor won’t need do hold onto you at all on this jump, but they will be right there just in case you need a hand. Level 6 gives you the chance to demonstrate you can regain stability by performing a back loop with recovery and then practice tracking, an important skill that allows you to move forwards which is essential once you start jumping with other people. AFF LEVEL 6įor the first time, you will be jumping out of the plane without an instructor holding onto you. On these jumps you’ll practice controlling your heading or direction, starting and stopping turns, progressing onto 360 degree turns on Level 5. Now that you’ve shown us you’ve learnt the basics you only need one instructor with you. You need to show us that you can monitor your altitude, hold a good body position, control your orientation in the sky and deploy your own parachute before moving onto the next levels.
